Columbia Farmers Market, a nonprofit, is a year-round farmers market in Columbia, Missouri. Open since 1980, as a producer-only market, everything is grown, made, or raised, within 50 miles of Columbia, by the farmers and artisans who help sustain our mid-Missouri region. Over the past few years, Columbia Farmers Market has experienced tremendous growth. With the opening of Columbia’s Agriculture Park, Saturday customer counts regularly surpassed 5,000, and the vendor membership has expanded to 85 local farmers, producers, and artisans. The market is deeply involved in the community, regularly hosting musicians, artisans, non-profit groups, educational opportunities, and many other special events. CFM is the largest in producer-only market mid-Missouri providing a diverse offering of locally grown agricultural and artisan products. In 2022, the market saw the best year in its 42 years of being open, breaking all records. In 2021 and 2022, it was voted one of the top two farmers markets in the nation, and #1 in Missouri, by American Farmland Trust.

Columbia farmer market is absolutely the best place to get fresh fruit and vegetables. There are organic produce from the garden. CFM is conveniently located next to City of Columbia’s Agriculture Park. I will always support CFM .

Our Columbia Farmer’s Market is my favorite place to energize. The farm produce, crafts and bakery items remind me of my roots and make me less homesick for country living. Not being a morning person I love our Wednesday market. Produce is fresh, cheeses delicious and wonderful friendly venders. You know who you are. On the occasional Saturday that I do venture out to market, the place is hopping with crowded stalls. The music rocks! I love that there are safe spaces for my grandchildren to play while parents shop. Something for everyone!

They also sponsor other family oriented activities, They are mostly under roof which helps both shoppers and vendors. One of the things we miss most after moving from Columbia, Missouri, six years ago was seeing all the friendly vendors and a broad swath of the community at the Saturday market. And talented local musicians as well – hurrah!

Everyone is very friendly and kind. Very helpful, with so so many choices to choose from different farmers. I was looking for the young lady with the different kinds of watermelons but could not find her. The elder farmer and his wife has the absolute best tomatoes every. You can tell that they are garden grown fresh. Not like the grocery store, I had been looking for some green tomatoes for ever and they had them. OMG!!!!! I fixed me some fried green tomatoes and honey!!!!! They were the best. And to that I have to say a big “Thank you” to call the farmers in Missouri. Thru you we are able to obtain good naturally grown fruits and vegetables just like when I was a kid. And I appreciate that to my heart. That is the taste I always long for and needed. My hat goes off to you. Job well done everyone. Be proud!!!!!
The most beautiful farmer’s market is in Columbia, MO. You can sip on a refreshing smoothie, buy a beautiful bouquet of fresh cut flowers and you definitely can’t leave without a verity of fresh fruits, vegetables and garden plants.

Best farmers market
The best farmer’s market I’ve been to. My kids love earning munch money and finding unique things to spend it on. We have bought popping corn cobs, a huge sunflower head to harvest seeds ourselves, the sweetest watermelon, honey, dried apples, and more. There is so much for kids to enjoy, picking cherry tomatoes and the schoolhouse room with weekly activities and playground. My toddler loves the live music. And we have found the vendors to be helpful and kind. Thanks so much CFM, we’re so glad you are here! You have earned the #1 spot in my book.

Just today, I picked up: fresh basil, organic tomatoes, organic sweet potatoes, organic okra, fresh mozzarella, smoked cheddar, ravioli, red sauce, rolls, blueberry muffins, scones, breakfast burritos and mushrooms. Oh yeah also a blueberry peach pie.
…but I forgot to pick up eggs, oh no! Too much to enjoy after a couple weeks away!

I love Lage Farms, Bonne Femme Honey, Stanton Bros eggs and chicken, and can’t remember their name but they make cheese. The variety of veggies, & greens is wonderful. The Breads & pie maker stands are perfect for ever y meal. I have to plan my weekly meals before I go shopping there or while I am there.

As one of the arts represented here in the form of music, I have met many people including those who have just moved into the area, just passing through exploring Columbia and visitors. The well thought out pavilion, playground area, picnic tables, music, teaching building, recipes, brochures and friendly atmosphere are appreciated and enjoyed by all. This place is a treasure and I look forward to seeing the completion and growth to come.

We always look for farmers markets wherever we are. We recently moved to Columbia. We went the first weekend after hearing about it and have been huge fans ever since. It is hands down the best one we have been to. We have been eating our way through from one end to the other. We have our favorites but walk the whole market each time just in case there is something new that we just gotta have.
When anyone visits us we always take them to the FM if they want yo go or not but they are always fans in the end.

Today was my first day at CFM. It was amazing. Everything you could possibly want was there. Fresh flowers, fruit, veggies, meat, poultry, baked goods, honey, soaps, etc. all the vendors were extremely nice and willing to answer questions. I will definitely be back!
We love to go to the farmers market eveey Saturday. My son loves to buy the triple berry pies there. We can also find great produce that may be hard to find elsewhere such as cayenne pepper, lime basil, pawpaw fruits and turmeric leaves. I love the hospitality of the vendors too.

Their relationship with the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture’s urban farm creates a public park unlike any other. The Ag Park is a unique partnership between public and private owners to promote healthy living, great food, life-long education, farming, community involvement, family security and self sufficiency. I like to go there on weekdays. I always get some cucumbers and tomatoes from Cramer’s market. His veggies are the best! Fresh and sweet. My son doesn’t like veggies from grocery stores but he loves veggies from farmer’s market. We love the music there too!

Our family loves the Columbia Farmers Market. It’s our toddler’s favorite Saturday morning activity. Every Saturday we have to go and get banana bread and lemonade, then we head over to the stage to listen to the band play. I am so grateful the CFM is in our community.

I have never eaten vegetables as I didn’t like the taste. Thanks to Columbia Farmers market I am now eating lettuce thanks to one vendor that helped me learn which type of lettuce I would like. Now I go every week just for his lettuce. I as get spaghetti squash now and watermelons. I am 56yrs old loving butter lettuce without any dressing.

I love the farmers market because it allows all the local businesses to be in the same place and be able to talk hands on then via email or phone. Allows you to feel like you get to bond with the person you buy your products from then just going to a store, checking out and never getting to see the true face behide it all. I end up spending most of my time talking and laughing with amazing people, getting recipes or cooking tips, and listening to the wonderful live music. Doesn’t matter what season, there is always something exciting happening at CFM.
I love getting up on Saturday mornings and strolling CFM! It starts my day off getting to walk through and look at all the vendors, so many vendors. I love the fresh food and getting to see the farmers, bakers, and homemade goodie makers in person so I can fully see the love they pour into their product.
CFM Is a community serving a large community. There are so many great products, but most of all there are great people doing wonderful things for and with each other. It’s always a good time, with plenty of great food, beverage, music, and friendly people.
Columbia Farmers Market has been a wonderful place to teach my kids about where food comes from locally.
I discovered the Columbia Farmer’s Market when I started attending Mizzou. I love the variety of local produce and bakery items. I’ve learned so much about local produce, healthy eating and living. It is highlight of my week when I bike to the farmer’s market Saturday mornings and pick up some produce and baked goods. CFM is hands down the best farmer’s market I’ve ever been to, and I have lived all over the country. From the quality of the vendors, to the grounds, to the year-round availability, these guys really get what it means to provide for a community. It’s one of my favorite things about living in Columbia.
I love meeting new folks from my community at the market. There’s always something different I can’t find at the big box stores and I love getting to put my money back into the community.

The market has great variety of vendors offering a wide variety of items including fresh produce, locally grown beef, chicken, lamb, pork and fish, bakery goods, pasta, cheese, native plants, coffee and the list goes on. I like the fact that I can support local farmers and a healthy lifestyle.
CFM has the cleanest, freshest, organic produce, cheeses and meat I’ve ever had the pleasure to buy and consume. CFM vendors treat their clients like family; always friendly, helpful and accommodating. CFM cares about the Earth, her people and her creatures!

I’ve lived in several cities with farmers’ markets and Columbia Farmers Market is by far the best. Excellent selection of vendors with a wide array of price points. The vendors are also producers, so you can always ask questions about where their food comes from, and also just get to know them as people. Going to the market is a great CoMO Saturday morning tradition where you can always count on friendly faces and fun.
As an avid cook of cuisines from different cultures, I can always trust the CFM to have vendors that sell the ingredients that I need, whether it be freshly picked fruits and vegetables, still warm from the oven baked goods, or top quality meats, I can trust that the CFM will have everything I need. I am fairly new to Columbia (moved her in July from Seattle) but so far, I have yet to miss a Saturday market! I HIGHLY recommend going! Once you attend one, you’ll be hooked
The Columbia Farmers Market is a fantastic resource for locally produced food and goods. It is an economic engine that connects mid-Missouri’s farmers from a 50-mile radius with a public who craves quality and admires entrepreneurship. It is a conduit for supporting family farms and provides an opportunity for the next generation of farmers to succeed. The market is an integral component of an even larger presence at the Columbia Agriculture Park. Their relationship with the Columbia Center for Urban Agriculture’s urban farm creates a public park unlike any other. The Ag Park is a unique partnership between public and private owners to promote healthy living, great food, life-long education, farming, community involvement, family security and self sufficiency. There is nothing quite like it anywhere.

My husband and 3 year old son and I love going to Columbia’s Farmers Market and we have enjoyed watching it grow over the years. We have our favorite products but there is always something new to try! We try to make one local meal at home a week.
We love the farmers market! You get to be apart of everything local Mid-Missouri is one place. We also love taking our toddler so that she can learn how important it is to support her local community and how home grown produce, coffee and products can make a difference in people’s lives

The Columbia Farmers Market is a wonderful and unique market with a real focus on good produced within 50 miles and members making & growing their own goods. We’ve lived in NY, DC, Dublin Ire and this is by far the best farmers market we’ve been to.

My sister visited from another state and was astounded by the size and variety of our market. I heard her telling her husband on the phone, “You should have seen it!” This was before the pandemic. When she comes back again she will see an even bigger market. This is a community asset.
I moved here 20 years ago and this is the best Farmers Market. There is a great variety. A beautiful clean space. Everyone is friendly. I would given it a 10 plus many more
Everyone is so nice and friendly, and the food is top-notch. Lots of awesome vendors and food stalls for a quick bite to eat while you shop – they even live music and a playground for the kids.
Great selection of locally raised chicken, turkey, pork, beef and lamb. Fresh fruit and veggies to make you soon your head spin. Highly recommend shopping here.

I depend on Columbia Farmers Market for at least 90% of my food. I figure that if they don’t have it, I can probably do without it. On the other hand, it has introduced me to foods I would not otherwise even thought of trying. I can’t imagine life without Columbia Farmers Market in Columbia, MO. The bonus is all the good work they do in the community to make fresh produce available to others. Thank you, CFM!
