How Thriving Farms Power America’s Farmers Markets

On any given Saturday morning in midsummer, a farmers market hums with life. Tables are stacked with fruit and vegetables still warm from the field, bouquets of just-cut flowers, and neighbors gathering over coffee and conversation. It’s a familiar scene across the country. But behind each stand is a farmer navigating an increasingly uncertain landscape.

Today, farmers face mounting pressure: volatile markets, rising input costs, and the growing impacts of severe weather.
