"I operated a F2F bagel shop and deli for 5 years, located where the Troy Farmer's Market was held. Because of the proximity of the market, and more importantly, the diversity of that market, I was able to make valuable and long lasting connections with local farmers and producers. While in operation, I sourced over 75% of my goods from local sources, many of them found in that market, and averaged over $100,000 in my local food purchases every year. I may not have been able to establish such a strong relationship with local producers, if not for the existence and diversity of that market, or financially contribute what I did to the local economy. I very strongly focused my business on awareness and importance of my suppliers, and I personally feel that we made a lasting impression on many of our customers in that regard."
