Boise Farmers Market is a food-centric farmers market, with over 95% of our vendors producing food and agricultural products. We are Boise’s market for food you can trace and farmers you can trust! You’ll find our vibrant local food scene on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm, April to October, at 1500 N. Shoreline Drive in Boise.
Shoppers can buy directly from farmers, ranchers, fishermen and makers at our open-air market, or order online early in the week and pick up their order in our Drive Thru Market on Saturday. We also take local food out to our Boise Area neighborhoods with the Boise Farmers Mobile Market. With 16 different stops around Boise, we provide fresh nutrient-dense produce and other goods to our neighbors who need it most and don’t have access to it. Word has gotten around that “Vanna the Veggie Van” is an easy way to get fresh local produce during the week.
SNAP/EBT is accepted at all our markets and we provide a Double Up Food Bucks match that allows those using SNAP/EBT to stretch their food dollars, providing more nutritious local produce for their families. Farmers markets have a long history of being more than merely a place to exchange goods. The Boise Farmers Market is committed to playing an important role in fostering new ideas in the regional food system and providing a place where the public can learn about the relationship of local food and farms to our health, our economy, and our culture. We are much more than a Farmers Market! https://vimeo.com/540201970

Best Boise market for fresh produce! And great staff and volunteers!
The Boise Farmer’s Market is on my agenda every Saturday morning during most of the market season. I love being able to buy directly from growers, forming relationships with them that I don’t think I expected, and even to expand my cooking skills because I want to try to figure out what to do with kohlrabi or mchicha. I especially love that BFM has partnered with Global Gardens and its spin-off businesses, allowing me to support refugee-background community members. As a market itself, it’s big and varied, but also stable and well-run. During the pandemic, they pivoted quickly to a drive-through mode of operation, which kept customers happy and seemed to have allowed many of the established vendors to continue working. They’ve moved locations a few times–particularly in the colder months–but they’ve kept the same emphasis on supporting local farms, farmers, and other vendors. It’s back to its busy self because people love it. I can always tell when someone has brought out-of-town visitors, who take photos and exclaim how they wish they had something similar where they’re from. Sure, it’s more expensive that buying the same types of produce in supermarkets. But we’re then not paying to transport inferior produce long distances and contribute to fossil fuel consumption. That’s part of the appeal for me. Local is best and the most sustainable way to eat!
We love the Boise Farmers’ Market for many reasons. First, but perhaps not even the most important reason, is that it allows us to eat real, and delicious foods (especially the amazing tomatoes, berries and breads). Second, this particular market is a real asset to the community — allowing for a place and time for gathering (this is really the amazing part), enjoying fruits of our community’s labor and inclusive of our growing refugee population as well. It’s a good place and purpose to meld together. Finally, and only because I’m trying to keep this brief, the market is exceptionally well run — so organized, considerate, and extremely flexible (offering safe walk-thru and drive thru options or a combination of both), and lots of opportunities to enjoy the market as a destination by including the best coffee trucks and unusual prepared foods for people to enjoy after or while shopping, occasional musicians, restrooms etc. Located right off the Greenbelt, a long walk along the Boise River (or bike ride) to the market is a perfect beginning to a Saturday morning.
The Boise Farmers’ Market is a asset to the community. They make an great effort to be accessible to everyone who wants healthy locally-raised food. They offer delivery and well as mobile vans. I look forward to the opening each April.
Amazing farmers, ranchers and local producers. I also love their weekday veggie van in various neighborhoods around town
Clear communications, wonderful selection from local farmers, strong community support! Best market ever!!
Easy parking convenient for picking up all of my farm fresh items. Easy in Easy out, can’t get fresh vegetables and meats from the grocery store this easy.
Boise’s Farmers Market continues to serve the needs of the community. COVID brought the opportunity for new ways to shop on line. This has been the greatest experience for shopping the farmers market. The web site is easy to use and reflects a great variety of shopping options. Pick up is easy and so pleasant, you are able to have your items placed in trunk with care and kindness. I so appreciate the opportunity to have farm fresh products from local farms.
Fantastic farmers market in the heart of Boise. Veteran and new vendors, farmers selling their own produce. The Mobile Market is a great asset to our community and the Drive Through Market is efficient, well-run, and they bend over backwards to make sure that you are happy. Very high quality food.
I love this farmer’s market. They have done such a good job this year!! Thanks to all the volunteers.
The Boise Farmers Market has done a phenomenal job in light of the health issue happening. They are so very organized, not only in the drive thru and pick up but really informative email updates, recipes, etc. It would be hard to do more than the folks that organize this effort. I’m so very grateful and proud of the vendors.
Recent science data has shown that the WORLD will run out of arable soil in approximately 60 years! Our future will depend on local, non industrial growers for our food supply ! Praise our wonderful farmers!!
I love to support our local farmers. The BFM drive thru was a genius solution this year. I volunteered a fair amount this summer and bought produce most every week. Thanks to the staff and board for making it happen.
We visited Boise 4 years ago and went to the Boise Farmers Market. We now have moved here and were looking so forward to walking around the Market, well with COVID things have changed. They are so organized with the pick up and everything has been delicious. I’m going to volunteer for the month of September, looks like a great group of people to work with too!!
The Boise Farmers Market offers a safe, efficient model for delivering all of our favorite local goods!
these folks pivoted on a dime due to COVID-19 in order to keep bring local grown, high quality food to their customers. These farmers are all essential workers!
Thank you , Jim! We agree. Our farmers ARE essential. They bring the community the most low-touch, low-milage food available!
BFM has been so awesome at getting a safe farmers market drive-through started. This has been awesome for supporting local vendors and getting fresh produce during the pandemic.
Thank you for your support, Rebecca!
Boise Farmers Market Drive-thru is the next best thing to being there! While I miss the ambience of the open air market, the quality of the foods delivered to my car is outstanding and keeps me coming back week after week. The system for pick up usually works beautifully and efficiently!
Thank you for driving thru, Karen! We all miss the joy of the open air farmers market. It sure is something to look forward to. In the meantime, we are always striving for drive-thru perfection!
Boise Farmer’s Market is an amazing group of farmers and food producers! It is well run by dedicated people to bring fresh, local produce to our area. They have handled this crazy time with efficiency and professionalism. We are lucky to have them here in Boise and support them totally.
Thank you, Kathleen! We are happy and honored to be able to bring delicious local produce to our farmers market community each week.
I just think that the market right now shows the heart of Boise! So many people shopped and want to shop locally, so the fact that BFM was able to adjust and adapt during these times is awesome. I have heard many people enjoying the process right now as well. This also shows the heart of Boise because there are volunteers helping to make this work- Boise is so kind!
Yes! The heart of Boise beats strong. We are such a unique and awesome community. Thank you, Kel!
Awesome is an over used word. But what Farmers Market manager and team have managed to implement and do flawlessly every week to continue to connect people to local food during covid19 times is truly awesome. The Market manager and her team of volunteers and farmers and producers were determined, innovative and nimble to pivot when state ‘shut down’ directives for covie19 public health and safety made opening the outdoor market impossible and crafted a smart plan for a well executed option to continue to connect people and local food and continue the market as order in advance (on Tues & Wed) and schedule a time on Saturday to drive up and masked volunteers put your bags right in your trunk / car back. This public television interview with amazing market manager Tamara Cameron is fun to watch to learn more. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBtqSgWin18 In addition to the Saturday drive up market, the Boise Farmer’s Market has started delivery in certain areas and also has a ‘mini market on wheels’ during the week to some community neighborhoods which might not otherwise have access. Awesome for sure.
Thank you, Michele! You have us pegged! We LOVE what we do and our passion shows.
I am extremely impressed with how quickly the Boise Farmers Market was able to adapt to the COVID-19 pandemic. The drive-thru system they setup works brilliantly, and is a safe and easy way to keep stocked up on all of the best locally grown produce, meats, bakery items, etc. In fact when this is all over, I am sincerely hoping they keep their online ordering and drive-thru pick up service available as an option!
Yep! We plan to keep the drive-thru. When it’s all said and done, we’ll figure out a way to do both! If it means we are sharing even more local food with our community. we’re all about it! Thank you!
During the Covid crisis I have especially appreciated BFM. I have been able to have nutritious fresh foods each week while maintaining quarantine through their innovative on-line ordering and drive up Delivery market.
Thank you, Martha! We are happy to be able to provide this as-safe-as-possible service.
Boise Farmers Market brings fresh local food straight from the farms to Boise. BFM was able to do a fast pivot when the coronovirus hit and created the Drive-Thru market. It is amazing how safe, effective and easy the farmers market has made it for people to continue to get fresh farm-grown food! And the volunteers from our community have been essential and exceptional helping this system work.
Our volunteers are amazing! They are the mechanism that allows the whole thing to run smoothly. We literally could not do it without them. Thank you for mentioning them, and for your support, Elise!
Vendors must grow what they sell, everyone is from the Treasure Valley, and there’s not much fluff.
We love being “not much fluff” – it’s all about locally grown at the Boise Farmers Market – and the Boise Farmers Market Drive-Thru! Thank you for your support, Pamela!
