The Richmond farmers market is one of the oldest farmers market in the US continually running since the mid 1860’s. It is a vibrant grow/bake/make your own market made up of between 15 and 35 vendors on any given Saturday morning. You can find locally and sustainably grown fruit, vegetables and herbs as well as hand made soaps, dog treats, donuts, house plants, flowers, breads, pastries, honey, compost, eggs, pastured and free range meat along with all sorts of handmade notions. It is a great place for the community to gather, socialize and buy wonderful food, and other things. The market welcomes everyone and takes SNAP and WIC
This market has had its’ ups and downs over the decades and is currently on a big upswing as we wait on the permanent market structure in the new Jack Elestro Plaza they are building during the 2016 season. This will be the farmers market permanent home for years to come
