In the heart of the Napa Valley, we connect our community to the best local produce, specialty food and artisan craft on Saturdays year-round and Tuesdays April through December. The Napa Farmers Market is on a mission to create a safe, healthy, welcoming, and inclusive environment as we increase equitable access to fresh, local food for all our neighbors.
In 2020, the Napa Farmers Market remained open and operating as an essential food business without interruption, serving as the home for 37 farmers and 71 small business vendors. We welcomed 81,224 customer visits while providing community access to local food in a safer shopping environment and holding space for folks to connect with their neighbors and the people that make their food.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to addressing local food insecurity through a variety of food assistance and nutrition incentive programs, including CalFresh Market Match, which doubles SNAP benefits for fruits and vegetables. The numerous economic challenges of 2020 caused a sharp increase in the utilization of our programs with nearly 400 low-income Napa County families receiving a record-breaking $65,115 in food assistance. In addition to food assistance dollars, the Napa Farmers Market is a major source of fresh produce donations in the Napa Valley. Last year 33,649 pounds of fruits and vegetables were donated by our farmers and delivered to the Napa Valley Food Bank and other organizations providing local food assistance.
This summer, we are thrilled to see everyone’s smiles at our market after a year of difficult, but necessary, COVID health and safety precautions. We invite you to shop with us both Tuesdays and Saturday in beautiful downtown Napa. Together we can build community around local food!
