Now in its 12th year, Hyde Park Farmers’ Market (HPFM) has stayed true to the vision of founders Mary Ida Compton and Judy Williams. Each Sunday from mid-May through October (9:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.), it brings the community together by establishing a vibrant outdoor environment for gathering, shopping and sharing. Consumers connect with local farmers and artisans to learn about where their food came from, how it was raised, and how food products were made. Through availability, education and awareness, HPFM offers a forum for celebrating foods grown in the Cincinnati/Southern Ohio region.
HPFM is a “growers only” market for agricultural products that are raised/made by area vendors and their families. Nothing obtained at auction or wholesale is allowed to be resold at the market. HPFM seeks diversity of product offerings, with an emphasis on heirloom varieties, to provide the highest quality products possible. All vendors are held responsible for complying with all legal requirements and regulations for selling their products.
Standards for Growers
HPFM gives preference to producers and vendors whose practices support the market’s mission. Vegetable and flower growers using practices consistent with what would be required for organic certification are most likely to be selected. Priority is given to fruit growers using integrated pest management (IPM). And the market requires animal conditions consistent with requirements to be certified humanely raised.
Standards for Artisans
Prepared food vendors must use ingredients sourced locally, as much as possible, involve minimal processing, and be culturally authentic. Products must be made by the vendor and the market gives preference to those vendors who use organic, regionally grown produce, ideally from farmers participating in Cincinnati farmers’ markets. All prepared food is subject to a tasting to assure product quality and appeal.
Some of the finest farmers’ market vendors in the Cincinnati region participate in the Hyde Park Farmers’ Market, where customers can count on quality, variety and friendliness.

I love this market because I can get all of the local ingredients I need to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire week.
