Very fun and friendly vendors, live music, mixed in perfectly with the Bee Week celebration at the nearby church, collaborates with the Harvest Supper and Just Roots and other farmers, great weekly summer social event, takes SNAP (most of them anyway).
My only bone to pick: they tend to park in the walkways or where there are ramp areas that slope downward so power chairs can ride easily onto the main area. That really irked me because I have to wheel people there in wheelchairs. There should really be painted on the ground on these walkway entrances a handicapped symbol. I’ve mentioned this to vendors several times but they still seem to think that upright amble people are the axis of all existence! What about people with canes and walkers too? Jeez! Does everyone think that people who are not as abled are all retarded or invalids or something? There should be some code of public interest here…hmmm…anyone else want to speak up about this at/for farmers’ markets? Someday farmers & vendors themselves will also be disabled! Most older/elders are in some disability–not decrepit–but are no less good customers too! Thank-you!
