Amazing market Reply Gina Green says July 24, 2023 at 7:12 pm Where have all the farmers gone? I’ve been going for years and enjoyed the local fresh produce, cheese & meat. Miss the true farmers market. Love crafts but the name needs to be changed. Reply Dripping Springs Farmers Market says August 1, 2023 at 12:35 pm We get this comment a lot at our market during the summer. It’s hard to grow things in Texas this time of year, especially in year two of a drought, when water restrictions are in place, when it’s over 100 degrees for a month straight. Farmers markets put a lot of emphasis on local growth, and in July and August that’s pretty tough, so remember to support when fruits and veggies are available, but also take care of local producers during off-seasons. Reply Jackson says August 8, 2023 at 12:19 pm They’ve all gone to the market at 807 Austin in town! Reply Abraxas Patton says August 9, 2023 at 11:48 am Absolutely NOT true! Not all vendors left the Downtown Wichita Falls Farmers Market. Our market has focused on farmers, ranchers, and cottage food artisans. We have a great market, and one can find fruits, veggies, eggs, pork, chicken, beef, and sweets to fit your needs. Reply Jackson says August 12, 2023 at 12:13 am That’s fine if you believe that, but anyone who’s been to both markets can tell the difference. Reply A Happy Vendor says August 20, 2023 at 4:16 pm The market at Austin is big, no doubt. But multiple vendors selling the same thing. Management allows anyone who has the money to cover booth fees in. Ohio is small for sure, but each vendor offers a unique experience. To say all vendors left Ohio for Austin is a complete fabrication. I have seen more and more vendors leaving Austin for Ohio. Even the treasurer had to leave. Sure would love to know who the mysterious Secret Donor is. I just hope that Austin can pass the Public Support Test when spending big money.
