2022 America's Farmers Market Celebration
The only ranking of America's favorite farmers markets
I always enjoy fresh produce at our local market! The hardworking people if Chewelah Valley who sell their wares at our market are amazing individuals whom I’m glad to support! We love the heirloom vegetables, oh! The GARLIC! We have the best garlic farmer right in our own county! Heirloom varieties make all the difference. People are always ready for a chat, and it’s the best place for a little garden advice!
In this bizarre year of 2020, Chewelah Farmer’s Market has made every attempt to keep our community – and our vendors – safe, and still provide for the needs of the community. Friday market is a weekly “lunch date” for some of us; we seldom spend less than 2 hours visiting with friends and vendors. Looking forward to the day that the rest of the “non-essential” vendors can be back in the lineup and we can really experience market summer!
Our Chewelah Farmers market is super friendly. Every few weeks there is an event that draws in the kids and young at heart adults like racing zucchini boats in the creek beside the market, a pie eating contest and a cherry pit spitting contest. There’s both live and pre-recorded music each week and a booth where local organizations can promote their upcoming events. It’s a place where local people meet each week and have an opportunity to buy fresh produce and baked goods from local vendors. It’s a loved part of the spring to fall life of our community.
