The Chaffee Crossing Farmers & Artisans Market is a festival-style market on second Saturdays, May through October in the Chaffee Crossing Historic District. Our focus is on supporting local entrepreneurs selling homegrown, homemade, and handmade products as well as original art, designs, and creations. Food trucks and adult beverages can be enjoyed as shoppers visit a variety of vendor booths. Monthly theme-oriented activities for kids and adults, live music, demonstrations, making new friends, bumping into old friends, and other surprises keep everyone coming back for more!. This is the premier market in Western Arkansas!
The market started in May 2021 with 15 vendors and grew to 121 vendors by October of the first season. It opened May 2022 with 100 vendors and has steadily grown. We anticipate as many as 200 vendors by the end of the season. Each month the market has a different theme that loosely guides our entertainment and activities. A kids cardboard fort building contest, pie baking and pie eating contests, dog costume contest, and a Halloween costume parade are just some of the activities that keep the public engaged and coming back for a different experience each month. This is a destination event that attracts people of all ages. Live music by local/regional musicians is a big hit with our guests. Food trucks and beer stands draw people in and encourage them to stay longer and spend more with our vendors. Demonstrations of pottery, art, cooking, crafts, etc. also give families a reason to come and spend time together. It is an old-fashioned community event that is attracting several thousand people to Chaffee Crossing, a new and rapidly developing area of Fort Smith, Arkansas. Ultimately we want to build a platform that supports the growth of small businesses and the art community.
