Red Stick Farmers Markets are awesome. Wide variety of vegetables and fruits. Lots of kid’s activities it a way for lots of people including people who don’t normally have access to fresh produce and specialty crops to be able to eat healthier foods that were just harvest 20 to 24 hrs. Not coming from across the country. These vegetables and fruits still have a lot of nutrients. Also, the people are awesome they love love love their market…… Red Stick Farmers Market we comment all the time….the clientele are faithful customers who are there rain or shine.

I’ve been a vendor at The Red Stick Farmer’s market for 14 years! I sell full cooked and frozen entrees. Most are low carb and keto. I have a Louisiana favorite, crawfish bisque, which is not low carb but worth the Splurge!!!! I love the market and my market famiky. Our community menbers are huge supporters of our market. We couldn’t be there without them! The market management team are the best!

I love Red Stick Farmer’s Market year round. It is my tradition to get up on Saturdays and try to be at the Market when the bell rings especially during the fall season! I love – love – shopping there. The vendors are courteous, knowledgeable and always ready to answer any questions I may have (from what it’s for, how to cook it, etc.).

My Saturday mornings are reserved for the market, rain or shine! Love the freshness of the produce and the quality. Over the years I’ve made friends with many of the vendors, almost always meet someone I know, love the strolling, talking, smells of the market. Inside, there are several places to have coffee, tea, breakfast. The market is important; during the first wave of COVID-19, they made it work and so, we had fresh veggies and other items. Even now most of the people shopping (and all the vendors) are masked. Have missed the cooking demos and are eager for them to resume once it is feasible and safe.

Every Saturday morning the routine in our household starts with the regular trip to the Red Stick Farmer’s Market. We buy all our weekly veggies, talk with the farmers, say hello to the regulars and frequently run into friends not seen for awhile. What use to be a chore, grocery shopping, is now a joyful outing. Our farmers listen and have added requested produce, they advise on ways, many times unique, to prepare their produce and they have introduced new veggies to a receptive market. We have learned to eat fresh and seasonal, which means waiting for favorites! Our grandchildren have shared the pleasures of the market run and always go when they are with us on Saturday mornings. This market is a great venue with inside booths with local products ranging from oils and dressings, to breakfast grills cooking market produce to a small organic food store and even cooking demonstrations with local chefs teaching how to use that fresh produce just outside.
To round out the market, several seafood and meat vendors were added years ago at the consumers suggestion. We usually have live music that passes the hat and plant vendors encouraging you to grow some on your own. And once a month in an adjacent parking lot, arts and crafts vendors, local, regional and some traveling. It is a great place, feeds your body, mind and soul.
