The Iowa City Farmers Market has been bringing local vendors and community together since 1972. It is an open-air market held in downtown Iowa City. The market operates from 7:30 am to noon every Saturday morning from the first week in May through the end of October. Two indoor winter markets are also held each year, one in November and the other December. Our vendors offer a wide selection of goods including fresh produce, eggs, meat, honey, baked goods, prepared foods, coffee, flowers, plants, hand crafted items, and more. The Iowa City Farmers Market accepts SNAP, WIC, and Senior Coupons. Live music and activities in Chauncey Swan Park accompany the market each week.

I have been a vendor at this market for many years. I love that I get to connect with my community through local food every week. It is like going to church.

Our farmers are the Salt of the Earth!
Their hard work is unsurpassed; their work is a work of Faith dealing each year with what Mother Nature deals them…
and, they keep plugging along. May God bless them all and may they continue to feed us and the rest of the world. May they have the strength to keep going in spite of the difficult times we are experiencing. Blessings to all!
